Dr. David's Bio- Continued

A Long Island native, Dr. David S. Jacobson, DDS earned his BA in Biology from the University of Vermont in 1993 and attended dental school at NYU School of Dentistry from 1993–1997. After a one-year General Practice Residency at North Shore University Hospital, Dr. Jacobson moved to Vermont to work in a large group practice in St. Johnsbury. While at St. Johnsbury Dental, he specialized in crown, bridge and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and removable prosthodontics. Dr. Jacobson considers his experience at St. Johnsbury Dental invaluable, as he was able to work with and learn from a skilled group of professionals and mentors.

In 2006, Dr. Jacobson moved to southern Maine and now truly feels at home in the Cape Elizabeth community. After years of commuting, Dr. Jacobson has found that living and working in the same town is highly rewarding. The Cape Elizabeth community and South Portland Buy Local have given him a new sense of awareness of the local economy. Whether it’s using labs for dental cases, purchasing office supplies and services needed for his practice, or sponsoring local teams and charitable events, Dr. Jacobson does what he can to support local businesses.

Dr. Jacobson is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maine Dental Society, the Greater Portland Dental Society, Casco Bay Study Club, and South Portland Buy Local. He has traveled to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to do outreach programs and has volunteered to provide free dental care to Maine residents through the Dentists Who Care for ME program. To stay up-to-date with the latest dental techniques and materials, Dr. Jacobson annually enrolls in continuing education classes. He makes every effort to become as educated in dentistry as he can, and often exceeds the state-mandated minimum requirements for continuing education.

Whether it’s baseball, football, or just hanging around, Dr. Jacobson’s two boys, Gabe and Liam, always keep their dad laughing and on his toes. While hiking and skiing have always been mainstays in his active lifestyle, Dr. Jacobson enjoys biking, running, and swimming at the Richards Community Pool in Cape Elizabeth. Each October, Dr. Jacobson’s friends and neighbors can always count on his growing collection of spooky displays and Halloween decorations.
